We are happy to announce the 3rd edition of Pianovember: a mini-festival celebrating the piano, offered in collaboration with our artist-pedagogues and their students!

All Pianovember activities take place in the DO majeur room of the Cooperative. This year we are offering four workshops and two concerts! These activities are offered free of charge, but as places are limited, instructions on how to attend each activity are detailed below.

How does a piano work?

On Saturday, November 4 at 4 p.m., pianist, teacher and tuning technician Nancy Gloutnez offers interested parties a workshop on how the instrument works: What is hidden inside this big black box? An interactive workshop that will answer all the questions young pianists have! Capacity: 12 participants. 7 years and over. !

Inauguration concert of the restored Baldwin piano

Saturday, November 4 at 5 p.m.

A few years ago, the Cooperative found a superb Baldwin Artist Series piano. The instrument received a makeover this spring. Pianovember is therefore the perfect opportunity to invite you to a concert where young talented students - the winners of the Les Étoiles competition from the three previous editions, and some of our artist-pedagogues will make this beautiful instrument resonate! Works by Ángel, Barber, Denis, Gershwin, Kuhlau, Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev.

Interpretation workshops

On Saturday, November 11, at 4 p.m., pianist and teacher Émile Rose offer interpretation workshop to our students. This workshop introduce pianists to the principle of the master class, in a friendly environment conducive to learning. Participants will be selected by their teachers.

Improvisation workshop

On Saturday, November 25 at 4 p.m., Rosane Lajoie, piano teacher, offers an improvisation workshop for pianists of all ages and levels. Based on a piece worked on with their teacher, participants will have the chance to develop their creative sense with improvisation exercises. Participants will be selected by their teachers.
