Fernanda Cortes began her musical studies at the age of 6 at the University Institute of Fine Arts at the University of Colima, where she studied in the children’s music program under the guidance of Polish pianist Martha Willimowska. She then studied privately with Dr. Emöke Ujj (Hungary) in Cancun, Mexico for four years. In 2012, she was invited by Dr. Anatoly Zatin (Ukraine) to continue her higher studies in music, earning a Bachelor of Music from the University of Colima in 2017.
She has also received guidance from world-renowned pianists such as Lang Lang, Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Alexei Sokolov, Jean Dubé, Elena Tsvetkova, and Luca Chiantore, among others. She has performed as a soloist with the Orchestra of the National Conservatory of Mexico and the SPIMA Orchestra (U.S.). She has participated in various prestigious festivals and competitions, including the ELAN International Music Academy and the St. Petersburg International Music Festival. She received a prize at the National Piano Competition Telefónica-Movistar and second prize at the St. Petersburg International Music Festival Competition.
In 2018, she founded the Conzërt Academy of Musical Studies, where she teaches piano to children and young people. From 2018 to 2022, she was the assistant director and professor at the Musical Training Center (CIFEM), sponsored by the Cuenca del Lerma Education Foundation A.C., a program that has benefited hundreds of children and young people in the municipality of La Piedad through activities related to culture and musical education. Her work led her to participate in the UNESCO World Congress on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development “MONDIACULT 2022”. Since 2020, she has been the founder and assistant director of the International Music Festival in La Piedad, where she has impacted more than 2,000 students through initiatives such as the Franz Liszt Piano Chair, CIFEM educational concerts, and the co-organization of the Paracho and Morelia International Guitar Festival extensions
She obtained a Master’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Granada (2023) and a Master’s Degree in Research and Musical Performance from the International University of Valencia (2021), both in Spain. During her time in Spain, she was awarded a scholarship to attend the 'Manuel de Falla' Course in Pedagogy of Musical Education for children, as part of the Granada International Music and Dance Festival (2023).
