Juliette Leclerc, Cello

Having been admitted to the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal in 2011, Juliette studied there with Elizabeth Dolin and Carole Sirois, where she obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees unanimously. She will begin an artist diploma program at McGill University in the fall of 2023 with renowned soloist Matt Haimovitz. She has had the opportunity to work with numerous conductors, including Jacques Lacombe, Yoav Talmi, Alondra de la Perra, Yannick Nezet-Séguin, and Jean-Marie Zeitouni. Over the years, Juliette has perfected her skills in masterclasses with Gary Hoffman, Marc Coppey, Brian Manker, Natasha Brofsky, Stéphane Tétreault, and Lluis Claret. Juliette won first prize at the Lanaudière Music Festival and Competition in 2017 and has been a national finalist at the Canadian Music Competition for several consecutive years. In 2023, she was awarded second prize at the Radda Rise International String Competition and had the opportunity to perform solo with the Orchestre I Musici de Montréal. The cellist has accumulated orchestral experience; she was selected to be a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada in the summers of 2018 and 2019, which allowed her to perform with orchestras in several countries. Juliette participated in the NACO Mentorship Program in May 2023, giving her the opportunity to perform in the Ottawa Arts Centre Orchestra for two concerts during their regular season. She also joins, as a supernumerary, several ensembles in and around Montreal, such as the Orchestre Métropolitain, the Drummondville Symphony Orchestra, the Sherbrooke Symphony Orchestra, and the Trois-Rivières Symphony Orchestra. In addition to the orchestra, Juliette enjoys performing on Montreal's popular stage and working in the studio on numerous projects. She has also been teaching the cello for several years, enjoying sharing her passion with younger audiences.
