Lorraine Gauthier-Giroux, Cello

Born in Sherbrooke, Lorraine Gauthier-Giroux started playing cello at age 6 in a school with an artistic vocation. She studied with Monique Joachin and Julie Trudeau before moving to Montreal and entering the Conservatoire and completing her collegial studies diploma with Denis Brott. She then completed her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Carole Sirois’ studio. She had the chance of performing in masterclasses for Colin Carr, Raphael Wallfisch, Philippe Muller and Johannes Moser. In the summer of 2019, Lorraine was invited to participate in the chamber music program at Domaine Forget where she perfected her quartet playing with international chamber musicians.
