Elena Anger, Musical Awakening
Teaching at:
- 4220, rue Drolet, Montréal
Elena began playing the harp at the age of 5. In 2010, she unanimously won first prize at the Concours Français de la Harpe. Elena studied with Annie Lavoisier at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles (Belgium), and with Godelieve Schrama at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold (Germany). She holds a Master's degree in Soloist and Orchestra Performance and a Master's degree in Instrumental Pedagogy.
Elena performs in various chamber music ensembles (Duo flute and harp, duo soprano and harp, duo bassoon and harp) and orchestras (Orchestres Symphoniques de Sherbrooke, de Longueuil, de Laval, Festival Classica, etc.) which have led her to travel. With a lifelong interest in educational projects, Elena has been teaching harp and early music for several years, and regularly offers educational concerts, children's shows and instrument presentations. She has also written a harp learning method for beginners, which will be available soon.
Particularly concerned with the accessibility of music education to all audiences, she is currently working on a Doctorate in music education at Université Laval (Québec) under the supervision of Jonathan Bolduc, developing pedagogical tools for teaching the harp to children with motor coordination disorders.
