Laurence Lambert-Chan in 140 characters : pianist and lecturer with a keen sense of humour and unafraid of self-mockery, committed to access to culture for all and to the environment. Laurence holds a Master’s Degree in chamber music and a Bachelor’s Degree in classical piano from the University of Montreal. With two recordings to her credit, she has given concerts at Carnegie Hall in New York, in Lima, Peru, in collaboration with the Canadian Embassy and at the Jean-Cocteau Amphitheater in France. She has also performed throughout Québec in numerous festivals, including Montréal en Lumière, the Montreal Symphonic Orchestra’s Virée Classique , the Festival of Sacred Music of Quebec, the Montreal Chamber Music Festival, Classica and Vue sur la Relève. Today, Laurence's musical activities revolve around three projects: The Story of Babar presented by Jeunesses Musicales du Canada with Elisabeth Payeur, actress; the Duo Ex Aequo with Romain Pollet, a comic and acrobatic four-hand piano duo; and Opera 101, a concert that mixes opera, comedy and clown with mezzo-soprano Charlotte Gagnon, a show that has one numerous prizes and raving reviews.
